Five for Friday!

I am reasonably certain we can all relate to this:

But, we can still link up for:

Thanks again Doodle Bugs.
Five for Friday is a weekly teacher linky party where you post five random things from today or this past week and on your blog. Then link your blog post back to Doodle Bugs!

Here we go!

I will tell you something pretty funny (in a weird way):

When I woke up to a snow covered front yard on Tuesday this week, I grabbed my camera, but in the back of my mind I was thinking, "Yahoo! Here's something for Five for Friday!"

That's my sweet cat, Wookee. This is his first experience with snow and he was not a happy cat. We threw our other cat out for a second to see what he would do. He ran back in the house and hid for the rest of the day.

This is in Alabama, people. It was a fairly major event. Three snow days.
The picture above was on Tuesday.
Here's round number 2 of the epic storm- this was Thursday morning:

Yes that's a tree down! The snow was very wet and heavy and caused a lot of trees to collapse. We had one big one, two small tree/shrubs in the front, and that one in the picture is our neighbor's. The snow was hard-packed, icy, and crunchy.
However, when the sun came out about 9:00 am it melted really fast! Enough is left on roads, though, that today school is delayed by two hours.....jeez

This is going to be totally random.

Wait that's the reason for Five for Friday.

Something a little wonky is going on with Chrome's browser and it is irritating. I used my snow days to catch up on some projects, but found navigating TpT to be frustrating. Switching over to Internet Explorer did work. Grrrrr.......

But then suddenly I thought of how my science textbook in the 1970's ( I was in high school) had a picture of a computer hard drive and the picture caption said, "People will never have home computers because the hard drive takes up too much space."

I actually think this IS THE PICTURE from my old textbook.

But here I am complaining about two internet browsers (Chrome and IE)......jeez....... it only happened at TpT, too. Seriously, maybe it was a message to me to get out and play in the snow.....

Seems to be fixed now. But, do you like the new PREVIEW system at TpT?? I'm still not sure about it.

Okay, so I'm watching the Olympics, right? And then I see a news report about how many views (like over 3 million) have happened for this guy's National Championship skate:

His name is Jason Brown. It seems his pony tail has its own Twitter following. Well, now, that made me want to check out the video. I am so glad I did!

If you have not seen it go here: Jason Brown.
You will love this!
I sure hope he does well at the Olympics! He is currently virtually tied with about four others in the top and could contend for a medal. Yahoo!

Here's a new linky for you:

It's hosted by Joy in the Journey and it's a way for us to encourage each other through our faith. As soon as I saw this I knew what I would share this week.

Like many of you I receive a daily scripture on my phone. I try to read it every morning as my day is getting started. Last summer, on June 29 to be exact, this is the scripture that arrived:
Y'all.... this was the day my daughter got married. I needed an uplifting thought for my day and this was perfect. The wedding was perfect- even the dad of the bride sobbing as he walked down the aisle was perfect. We were surrounded by love- God's most especially.

Here's my second verse that I saved because it arrived in such an amazing way to encourage me:

Can you guess what day it was??
It was the first day of school this year.
What a powerful way to start my year!
When you need encouragement the most God will provide....

Thank you Joy in the Journey! This new linky is wonderful!

Let's leave on a funny note:

Have a great weekend y'all!

  3. Thanks so much to both of you for stopping by! I checked the Chicken Soup blog to see what you were talking about and found a nice mention about my little blog.

It looks like the Chrome problems are over for now!
