Monday Made It!

Oh my goodness, I don't think I have ever been in this linky, but today I did make something fairly spectacular- for me! So this was very timely!

Linking with Tara for:

I recently started updating my blog and adding things to it. One thing I really wanted was a set of little blog buttons. Do you see those cute little owls in the sidebar! I made those! Well, it took me three days to get those little buttons exactly like I wanted. *UPDATE: In the meantime I had my blog designed by Blogs Fit for a Queen and those cute little owls are no longer on this blog. Here's what they looked like:
Even though these are no longer on this blog you can still install your own social media icons.

A few weeks ago when I was trying to do this myself I decided it was a much simpler process than the tutorial I was using so I decided to make my own tutorial video. Holy Cow!

I sound really funny on the video.
Anyway, here's how to Add Social Media Icons to Your Blog:

Some things I need to add (that I forgot to say in the video, but good grief, it's already 10 minutes so if I had said much more it would have been a movie):
1. The owls icons that you see are too large to be used. I resized mine in Paint.
2. The reason you save the blog post page is so you can go back and make changes or add to it later if you need to. If you delete it after adding the icons then you have to start over to add another icon.
3. If you want a TpT icon to add to your display you can get the HTML from TpT (it's linked on your dashboard page).
4. Listed below are all the sites I used in the video - in case you want to try this! The titles are linked for you!

Screen-o-Matic  -free recording of your desktop without downloading a program.
Owls Icon set    -download the owl set for free- Thank you Kellie!
Kellie's TpT store    -where you can purchase more owls if you like them- I did so I could add G+
Free Round Icons   -this is where I found the set of 72 icons that you can use.

So, there you are! Hope this is useful.
For me it will be the place I come to when I decide to do this again and cannot remember how!

  4. Thanks Pixie Ann- it works great if you use ready made small icons. Mine was more complicated because the owls had to be resized. Thanks for visiting!

  6. My Screen Recorder Pro is a better screencast software tool. Records your screen and audio from the speakers or your voice from the microphone - or both simultaneously. The recordings are clear and look great when played back on your PC or uploaded to YouTube. It will record directly to AVI, WMV, MP4, or FLV. Just perfect for creating tutorials, demos, and presentations. Plus, java is not required and there are no limits on recording length. Also, the recordings play back on any device.
