Five for Friday! June 6

What a fabulous week this has been!
Of course, some parts were not so fabulous, but still....
well, keep reading!

But first, let's give some credit to Doodle Bugs and
Thanks so much for this great linky!

Take a good look at this little old blog of mine- it is getting a makeover!
Here's the first header I ever had:
Had to make it after mine disappeared one day. The service I was using stopped offering their headers and backgrounds for free and everything just *poof* went away. I had to scramble to make something.
I hated it!
So I made another:

I liked that one better but then changed it once again to make it more sciencey looking:

It did get better and better!
Anyway, soon it will be all NEW again!

So excited!
For the longest time I have thought about having a new overall design, but just kept learning how to make things myself.
I mean really, have you watched my video about how to make your own social media icons. Well, you should.
Click {HERE} if you missed this gem.

Anyway, I found the greatest little blog designer ever and Courtney is in the middle of my new design.
To  be revealed soon.....

So I went by the Animal Shelter today and saw this:

Poor little guy wanted me to pick him so badly. He climbed those bars like a ladder. Anyway, I was not there to get a new cat- just to register for the Cat Volunteer class. I go in a week to be trained.
Really, how much training is it going to take to learn how to clean cat cages?
The thing is....
I will probably end up with another cat.
A third cat.
I may be a cat lady.

Okay here's another part of my fabulous week!
I went for my summer check up- you know teachers have to schedule things for the summer because otherwise you have to write plans for a sub..
anyway I went for my check up and my sweet doctor said, "Well, have you thought about having a colonoscopy?"
Like maybe I really do sit around and think about things like that.
So I did it.
You do not want the details.
Good news: I am clear as can be and don't need another one for 10 years!
That's pretty fabulous in my book!

Also about cats....

We actually bathed Wookee one time when he was sick. When he was completely wet and we put him down he acted really oddly. I think having a wet tail throws a cat's sense of balance whack-a-doodle.

Okay- -time for

Here's a set of Bookmarks
featuring the Scientific Method!

  1. I feel like flying over from the UK and taking that little cat home - so sweet! You should definitely get a third!
    Growing Little Learners

  2. Oh my- I have been thinking seriously about going back and getting one of those kittens. Not sure how my other two will react- they'd adjust, I'm sure!

  3. Wow! You have had a week!!! Having just redesigned my blog I know you must be so excited!! By the way, I feel you on the colonoscopy. I did one a year ago and glad not to have to prep for that again for a long time!
    Mrs. Spriggs’ Kindergarten Pond

  4. Thanks for feeling my pain! Makes us both colonoscopy prep survivors! Actually I found the first 30 minutes after waking up to be the worst part- I had some real crampy pains. Turns out you just need to relieve yourself. I am wondering what the people in the neighboring surgical stalls thought.....once I started tootling.....

  5. Great post Carol. Oh my goodness Carol- that cage climbing kitty tugged at my heart strings! I just simply cannot bear to go into those places.

    Bleeding heart,

I think there is a Throwback Thursday Linky

  6. Yes, I know! That precious cat was determined to be set free! I am going back to the shelter today to see about getting one of the kittens (not that one)!

  7. What an adorable cat!! I'm pet lover myself! Thanks so much for checking out my blog! I'm your newest follower.

    Pencils, Books, and Dirty Looks

  8. Thanks Aimee! That is a cute cat, but he was very loud. I tried to tell him no one would pick him if he made so much noise! I have a different one picked out and may go back and get it Monday!

  9. I would have struggled to say no to that tiny climbing kitten, what a cutie!! I would love to volunteer at a shelter, but like you, I'd end up with sooo many pets!

    1. It is really hard to see their little faces. We made a mistake and also walked through the dog cages. Boy, those dogs can have the saddest faces ever! They just beg you with their eyes. Anyway, I am going to train to work with the cats and at least love them on the days I can visit! And one little kitten named Roo is going to come home with me soon!

  10. Love the blog design!! I used Courtney too! :)
-Elyse @ A is for Apples

    1. Thanks Elyse! I am loving it, too! Courtney was so fast with getting this finished and I am very pleased with her talent. All the little extras- like the test tube in the title were her creativity!

  11. Thank you for linking up this week at TBA's Freebie Friday! This is just terrific, please come back tomorrow because you're my Featured Blogger! :)
