    1. I think they do! We do things kids love- build and experiment and explore. And failure happens with very little penalty. That's not true on your spelling test! Thanks for visiting!

  3. I want to be like you!!! I wish I lived nearby to glean in all your wisdom and fun-ness (I know, it's not a word, but your class looks like a place I would have wanted to be as a student). I am a new (older) science teacher (8th, 9th, Chem and AP Chem) and I so want my students to enjoy science. Thanks for great ideas and being so 'cool'!!

    1. Awww, thanks Amy! I appreciate your kind words. I love my job and find something new everyday that amazes me. Science is the best and hands-on learning is the absolute best! For the most part students at my school love STEM and talk about it a lot. The lab is noisy and chaotic and BUSY! I love it!

  4. I love that STEM lab!! What a blessing! I don't even have my own classroom yet because I have a split position this year. I am looking forward to claiming the "learning cottage" (mobile unit) next year that might be mine. With teaching,...it is the little things that matter to me.

I'm going to be a STEM teacher this year and will be working out of the science lab. I'm very excited, but would love to connect and hear how you do it at your school. My e-mail is: Gevans@hoover.k12.al.us Thank you!
